JF404E
-
JATCO JF404E (001) – 4-speed hydraulic automatic transmission designed for small and compact cars with a transversely mounted engine and front-wheel drive (FWD). This transmission was used in various Volkswagen, Škoda, SEAT and corresponding Nissan vehicles.
The JF404E design uses a torque converter with lock-up clutch, planetary gear sets and an electronically controlled hydraulic system. The compact transmission design is adapted to lower-torque engines. The JF404E-W variant described in JATCO documentation can transmit up to 150 Nm of input torque.

Important: JF404E transmissions are produced in different variants, so their housings, valve bodies, filters, clutch components, torque converters and other internal parts may differ. Not all versions of the listed vehicles are fitted with this particular transmission. JF404E must not be automatically equated with JF403E, JF405E or other related JATCO transmissions. Before ordering a transmission or its spare parts, the vehicle VIN, the exact transmission code and the original OE number must be checked.
